Thank you for your prompt responses and I am pleased to say that I came to the salon as a new client last Saturday and Tracey was my stylist. The whole standard of service, from e-mail enquiry, to phone call to the actual appointment was brilliant and I have already recommended the salon to a friend. This was my Christmas treat and I'm so glad I did it! Thank you so much and I will be back as soon as I am able.

Kind regards
Elizabeth Preston.

Bromley Small Business Awards Winners!

In 2005 the david rae Hair Spa was nominated by a number of our clients to receive an award for client care and business success, the hairdressing health and beauty category. There were fifteen nominees and three hurdles to jump after the nomination.
  • We had to submit a short summary of our business philosophy.
  • A mystery shopper tried us out.
  • A visit to david rae Hair Spa by a film production team for the video.
Then we were down to four. Every one of our team attended the Awards dinner at the Warren Police Club in Hayes, all ready in their long dresses for the BAFTA-type award evening.

You can imagine the excitement when it was announced, after dinner, in true Oscar’s style:

“...and the winners are... the david rae Hair Spa”!

Yes - We Won !! Congratulations to All of Our Team and a Special Thank You to those Fantastic Clients who nominated us.

A Short History of Petts Wood
Petts Wood is in the London Borough of Bromley situated between Orpington and Bickley.

The name first appeared in 1577 as "the wood of the Pett family", who were shipbuilders and leased the wood as a source of timbers for the building of ships.

William Willett, a campaigner for Daylight Savings Time lived in nearby Chislehurst for most of his life, and is commemorated by a memorial sundial in the wood. The Daylight Inn pub located opposite the david rae Hair Spa, near the railway station is also named in his honour.

The Jubilee Country Park is located to the northwest of the main shopping area and is home to several rare species of animal life. Most of Petts Wood was built in the early twentieth century by the developer Basil Scruby, as a high quality estate in a rural setting only a short train journey from the city, with the East side being built first. The area sustained heavy bombing during World War Two between 1940-44 because of its close proximity to London.

Former French president Charles de Gaulle lived in Petts Wood during the Second World War in a house on the corner of Chislehurst Road and Birchwood Road during the Second World War as he led the French resistance during that war. He was later to become the President of France.
